Skin Frenzy
Prestamos would like to congratulate Liz Treviño of Skin Frenzy. Her day spa in Phoenix was recently featured in the April issue of Latino Perspectives. The article entitled "Latina Entrepreneurs Making Their Mark" highlights the success of Skin Frenzy.
The story is inspirational and encouraging to anyone trying to start a small business. Liz says it best in the article: "We're starting to realize passion is required to be successful. If there is passion behind it, it will work."
Liz certainly has the passion and we wish her much success in the future!

JOATMON Construction
After more than ten years experience, Jose started his own fabricating shop in 2002 to provide licensed welding manufacture and repair service. He realized that there were many opportunities in the booming Kingman/Lake Havasu area.
After discussing his plan with Mohave Community College Small Business Development Center he was referred to Prestamos. Jose received a loan for $10,000, technical assistance, and a referral so Jose could expand into the distributorship of steel buildings.
Prestamos is happy to help hardworking entrepreneurs, like Jose, and looks forward to continuing to help!

International Motors
Carlos Valdez started his car dealership in 1998 by renting a lot in downtown Nogales. He soon learned that there was many opportunities in this border town and in 2002 opened a finance office to externally place a dealer paper. Like most small business entrepreneurs, Carlos needed financing to bring his ideas to life and reduce existing cost of funds. He discussed his plan with Prestamos CDFI. Carlos was not disappointed, for CPLC not only gave him the original loan for $100,000, but also later provided additional financing so Carlos could buy commercial property to improve visibility for his business.
Providing reliable transportation to resident in the Nogales area has proven to be a clear road to success for Carlos. It wasn't always easy but, good customer relationships and dedicated employees have made it happen.
